Carine and Guido love small pleasures and enjoy sharing them. So they set up a new escape in Zwalm, between Oudenaarde and Zottegem in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes, where you can effortlessly recharge your batteries. At Au Porte Bonheur, you can stay with a view of the fields or the almost 1-hectare garden where sheep and goats reside. Each room also has its own terrace. And even while you relax by the gas fireplace in the lounge or enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the terrace, you can enjoy all that happiness. The highlight is, of course, the brand-new wellness center. Indoor and outdoor. Equipped with a Finnish sauna, barrel sauna, infrared cabin, jet stream pool, massage chairs, experience shower, and steam bath. In other words, intense relaxation. Would you like a bite to eat? Carine prepares all the dishes herself, using home-grown vegetables and fish and meat from local traders. For culinary dinners, she calls in a renowned chef. The wines they serve inspired the room names and were carefully selected from their friends at the French wine estate La Gontarde. One of the red wines was even blended by Guido. The owner can also tell you a lot about cycling. After all, Guido's great-grandfather was Karel Van Wijnendaele, founder of the Tour of Flanders and responsible for a lot of cycling history. The couple are happy to open their doors for all kinds of events, from wedding receptions and birthday parties to meetings. And you can also book the wellness facilities without staying overnight.
