All this in the former Augustinian monastery of the military hospital, right in the pedestrian zone, with Zurenborg just around the corner. World-renowned Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen took on this building for his first hotel project and retained its authentic monastery charm. Clean lines, a refined choice of materials, and lots of subtle lighting. A serene place where every detail, from the bench under the sink to the bakelite switch, is just right.

No blingbling here, but understated luxury. The 44 rooms are bathed in Van Duysen's iconic style and decked out in Egyptian cotton. Sometimes you stay under the restored truss, other times you look out over the city green that surrounds this place. The sisters' former chapel serves as a lounge and bar and right next door you can have lunch, dinner and enjoy the perfect breakfast. Or settle down on the terrace of the walled, lush garden? One floor below houses the spa that lets you enjoy holistic treatments with 100% organic Maiwe products. An oasis in the middle of the city, one that you also have all to yourself. Complete with private swimming pond.
