Right on a pedestrian street in the center of Ostend, a stone's throw from the sea and close to the best shops and coolest bars, you will find Belle de Jour and Belle de Nuit Bistro and guesthouse, a favorite haunt of many Ostend fans. Owner Els has excellent taste and not only succeeds in preparing delicious seasonal dishes with a twist, she also knows how to bring an interior to life. Both the bistro on the ground floor and the four spacious rooms on the upper floors of this ^19th-century building exude a certain je ne sais quoi. It's impossible to put into words, but it's simply very Els. A place full of personality, with carefully selected items and works of art, giving you the wonderful feeling that you are visiting stylish friends or family. Here and there you will come across references to Jean Brusselmans, and that is no coincidence. Els has a master's degree in visual arts and painting, has been collecting art for years, and Brusselmans is one of her favorites. An inspiring place to stay.
