Dirk and Katrien fell in love with Italy’s Piedmont region—with its rolling vineyards, charming villages, fantastic wines, and Italian cuisine. After a long search, they found their dream spot in San Martino Alfieri: a wine estate over 100 years old with a breathtaking view of the surrounding rolling hills. Together with their children, Daan and Kaat, they breathed new life into the estate, preserving authentic details such as terracotta floors and brick vaults. The result? Two stylish vacation homes and an infinity pool to die for.

And that location! You’ll be staying right where the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato wine regions meet—ona mountain between Alba and Asti, surrounded by vineyards. Barolo is also nearby. A paradise for foodies and wine lovers, with picturesque villages, cozy trattorias, and renowned wineries. And there’s plenty to enjoy right on the estate itself. The absolute highlight is the 17-meter-long infinity pool overlooking the vineyards. And that’s not even mentioning the lush garden with olive and fruit trees, plenty of cozy seating areas, and a pergola covered in grapevines.

You’ll stay in one of the two vacation homes, named after the aromas of the local Barbera wine. Casa Lampone (4 people) has two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a cozy living area with a kitchen, and a private terrace. Casa Vaniglia (8 guests + baby) features 4 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious south-facing terrace. It offers authentic charm combined with modern comforts and air conditioning. Traveling with a larger group? Then rent both homes together as Casa Barbera (12 guests + baby). It’s ideal for enjoying time together, with plenty of space and privacy for everyone.
