About this place

Between the border with the Netherlands and the Hoge Kempen National Park, in a peaceful setting on a few meadows by the canal, lies the De Sjieper holiday home. It has been here for many years. This was the site of an old square farmhouse, the home of shepherd Albert. For more than 50 years, he took his flock to the national park every day, and when that was no longer possible, the Vrancken family took over. They fell completely in love with this unspoiled piece of nature and had a country house built there. Today, daughter Inge, a hostess in heart and soul, continues this family story and opens her doors to anyone who wants to experience Limburg's tranquility and hospitality. No empty promises, Inge welcomes all her guests with homemade apple cake. It's all about enjoying yourself right away. On the terrace in the garden, in the delightful kitchen, or at the extra-long dining table. There is plenty of space, and the soothing view of the deer is included free of charge. What's more, you can effortlessly open the windows and step out onto the large terrace. In winter, gather around the fireplace or venture one floor higher for a game of table soccer. Every bedroom is bathed in light, has its own bathroom, and there are stacks of books everywhere waiting for you to leaf through them. And since you are practically adjacent to the country's only national park, you will of course spot numerous birds. The binoculars are ready!
