About this place
The middle of nowhere can be your whole world. Especially when that world overlooks fields and meadows and you can hear a pin drop. It feels like you're in the eye of the storm. At De Weide Wereld, you can leave all that hustle and bustle behind and truly unwind. There is greenery galore, a winding forest path that leads you to a delightful wild garden, and three rooms that remind Bruno and Petra of memorable places they have stayed: Aleppo, Cochin in South India, and the remote Egyptian oasis of Siwa. The avid travelers share their travel library and part of the house where you can spot handicrafts here and there. From stained glass to crocheted bedspreads to letters in stone.
And then there's breakfast, with homemade sourdough bread, granola, jams, and a range of organic delicacies from small local producers. It makes sense, as Petra has been tempting the artists and crew of the Cactus Festival with her vegetarian dishes for years. Guests have access to a cozy living room with a wood-burning stove, their own kitchen, and a hammock garden. Travel stories are shared with great enthusiasm. Because here, the whole world comes home.
We ❤️ the hidden wild garden where you can bond with the sheep.
