Just 20 km from Brussels, a different world awaits. No concrete, no traffic jams, no stress, just the green rolling hills and lush meadows of the Pajottenland. Cows, fruit trees, and views. Here, in the hamlet of Woestijn, Ilse and her family found a home years ago in their renovated square farmhouse. And they wanted to share the peace and quiet they found there, within cycling distance of the capital. So they converted the barn on their property into a B&B and vacation home: De Woestijn. The authentic brickwalls feature large windows that offer apanoramic view, allowing you to gaze out at thefieldsfrom the comfort of your armchair. B&B guests wake up to a generous breakfast ofhomemade granola, homemade jams, and homemade bread. Complemented with delicacies from the Pajottenland region. Would you like an egg from our own chickens with that?

In the summer of 2025, they added another new vacation home: Den Ast. The couple converted this barn, which used to serve as a drying loft, into a cozy vacation spot for four in their characteristic, bright style. It has two rooms.

Lodging options galore. Greenery is plentiful and you will enjoy it to the fullest. Even more good news, in the garden awaits the shared, heated swimming pool. Afterwards, why not take a stroll to the vegetable garden, stroll through the orchard and greet the cows and chickens?
