About this place
There are places with character, and then there are Places with Character. Haven 1 in the picturesque and tiny Sint Anna ter Muiden belongs to the latter category. This is a house with history. This listed monument was built in 1775, served as an inn, and appeared in the work of Stijn Streuvels. What's more, Emile Zola is said to have stayed here. The fact is that this holiday home has a soul that has lived through a lot. So, no prefab beauty, but creaky corners and charming edges finished with some centuries-old patina and Delft blue. A building worthy of this historic village. You will be staying a few hundred meters from the Belgian-Dutch border. In the Middle Ages, Sint Anna ter Muiden was one of the outer harbors of Bruges. Today, it is still one of the smallest villages in the Netherlands, with a population of 50. The entire village is listed and has no fewer than 40 national monuments. An intense heritage experience, then. And you don't have to sacrifice any luxury. Quite the contrary. With its three bedrooms, south-facing garden with a view of the church tower, and terrace with outdoor kitchen, this is the place to slow down and enjoy a different pace of life. And sitting with a book in the living room, under those imposing beams and next to the wood-burning stove, you almost feel like you've been transported back to the Middle Ages.
