Yves and Bert were tired of the rat race and consciously wanted to do fewer different things. Or write a slower story together. So they traded Belgium for Lanzarote, where they converted an old Canarian farmhouse into a quirky place with five eclectic and colorful suites. Hektor is tucked away at the end of a valley in the center of the island, and the couple renovated the building with a love for the artistic craftsmanship of Lanzarote. Art is never far away. For example, the suites are regularly taken over by resident artists, each of whom leaves their artistic mark. Each suite is also an ode to their favorite things, from discoveries in graphic art to island finds. The gentlemen also laid out a large vegetable garden, planted more than 300 trees, and adopted a number of farm animals, including a donkey, two sheep, and a dog. You can cool off in the photogenic swimming pool. And so this finca is becoming greener and more fertile, on an island where it is almost always springtime.
