Laura and Dries have done it again! Right across from their big brother, Kompas Gîtes—nestled in those rolling hills just across the language border—they’re opening their brand-new Klein Kompas gîte. It’s a bit smaller, but still big enough for four and just as cozy.

Here, too, Dries rolled up his sleeves and created the entire space himself—all on his own. Everything was handmade by Dries, from the sturdy kitchen and the solid benches to the rugged beds. Natural materials take center stage, so you can fully enjoy the mud walls that further accentuate the authentic exposed beam ceiling. Here, you’ll find yourself slowing down effortlessly.

Outside, you’ll find a hot tub with a generous supply of firewood and a sunny terrace. It’s the perfect place to relax after a lovely walk or bike ride. That’s because you’re staying here in the heart of the Pays des Collines, the Walloon counterpart to the Flemish Ardennes. Just as hilly, just as idyllic—only a little less well-known. And Ronse is less than 10 km away. Then it’s time to head back to your charming little hobbit house.
