Two families with a soft spot for this region. That's how the story of La Ferme d'Arthur begins. When two Flemish couples discovered Arthur's old farmhouse in charming Smuid, they fell in love with it immediately. It was the beginning of a grand dream project: transforming an old farmhouse into a cozy bed and breakfast with wellness facilities. Or, in other words, creating the kind of place where you would want to spend your own vacation. No sooner said than done. Local contractors got to work and the farm was thoroughly and energy-efficiently renovated. Triple glazing, underfloor heating, solar panels, and where possible, old materials were recycled. Wood and granite come from local forests and neighboring quarries. And so, thanks to these many regional materials, you end up with a real Ardennes vibe, topped with a touch of luxury. Each room has its own bathroom, you can relax in the wellness area, challenge each other at the foosball and pool tables, and then socialize at the bar. The indoors and outdoors merge into one another, allowing you to enjoy the 360° panorama to the fullest. That's why there are several covered terraces, one on the ground floor and one on the floor above. At the front, you can admire the charming village church, while at the back you are treated to a panoramic view of greenery. Nature that you can easily explore yourself thanks to the many hiking junctions and cycling and MTB trails. In the storage room, you can easily store and even charge your steel steeds. End the day with a game of petanque?
