Snow in winter, a microclimate in summer. La Maison du Guil is in a pretty good spot. This ^16th-century priory now serves as a bed and breakfast, and also has a gîte, all in the Hautes-Alpes. Close to the Italian border and between Grenoble and Nice. And all this in a small, charming mountain hamlet where time stood still centuries ago. The locals refer to it as 'le petit Nice', thanks to that famous microclimate that guarantees many hours of sunshine.

And this ancient site has even more assets. After all, here you are at the crossroads of Les Ecrins, la Haute-Ubaye and Le Queyras, a wonderful vast area where nature has the upper hand. The perfect place for hiking. Or do you venture on one of those famous cols from the Tour de France or go mountain biking? In summer, you can also raft or climb to one of those photogenic mountain lakes to take a very refreshing dip. In winter, strap on your skis. The sparsely populated Le Queyras offers beautiful and lonely ski slopes that give you the feeling of being alone in the world, and the large ski domain of Vars-Risoul is also a great place for snow enthusiasts.
