About this place
On the edge of Boezinge, a tranquil village in the Westhoek region, Landhuis Eikenburg lies in the middle of nowhere. A three-part farmhouse that was rebuilt after the Great War and is surrounded by fields, meadows, and silence. And all this just a stone's throw from Diksmuide, Bruges, and the coast. Evelyne and her family found peace here and tackled the total renovation in phases. The barn was converted into living space and, after some deliberation, they converted the original house into a delightful vacation home. Contemporary, with steel windows, walk-in rain showers, and an AGA stove. Built with natural materials and retaining as many original elements as possible. A matter of respecting the atmosphere of yesteryear. Something that is effortlessly achieved thanks to the consistent use of sturdy, rustic materials.
The extensive garden was laid out according to the same philosophy. It features charming differences in level, numerous hidden corners, and plenty of entertainment for the little ones. From a playground with natural materials to candy hedges and an orchard to a wigwam and... the heated overflow bio pool. Inside, Evelyne opted for soft, muted, matte tones. A subdued atmosphere that perfectly matches the quiet Westhoek region.
We ❤️ waking up in this soft still life.
