Some people dream their whole lives of a home in Provence; others take matters into their own hands during their vacation. Mathias and Anne-Sophie, avid fans of Provence, belong to the latter category. And when they’re staying in Provence in the summer of 2025, they visit a few houses and—as if it were meant to be—stumble upon “their” place. With his expert contractor’s eye, Mathias sees a lot of work, but even more potential. In mid-November, they sign the deed, and a day later they dive headfirst into the complete renovation so they can welcome their first guests as early as the summer of 2026.

And you’ll immediately understand why they fell in love with it at first sight. Maison Olivette is tucked away in the green hills of the Var, surrounded by 80 olive trees and boasting panoramic views. The place has been completely renovated and now features plenty of cozy nooks where you can relax—whether in the sun or the shade.

The main house, l’Olivette, sleeps 8. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a bright living area, and a large kitchen-dining area. On the property, you’ll also find the La Petite Olivette cottage, a guesthouse for 4 with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a kitchenette. It’s ideal for 2 families, a group of friends, or grandparents— together, yet still a little apart. Although the indoors are cozy, life here is mainly spent outdoors. In and around the pool, cooking together in that cozy outdoor kitchen, sipping aperitifs at the bar, and enjoying the nature that surrounds you. And since the family has three children of their own, you’ll find children’s tableware, toys, water toys, and a beautiful children’s room. So it’s perfect for families with little rascals.

You’ll also be staying within walking distance of Flayosc, one of those charming little villages in the Var. So on Monday you can stroll to the market, on Tuesday grab a table on a terrace in the village square, on Wednesday enjoy a summer concert, on Thursday attend a village festival, and how about a night market on Friday? Other charming Provençal gems, such as Tourtour and Cotignac, are also nearby. Or live like a king in France.
