When you rent a vacation home in Crete with two families and enjoy yourselves immensely, there's a good chance that on the^second evening, as you watch the perfect sunset, you'll start dreaming. And since these four friends are the enterprising type, it didn't stop at just dreaming.

So, during their vacation, the two friends immediately set out on a prospecting trip and stumbled upon a remote, idyllic plot with a view via a winding road between the olive trees. Their enthusiasm only grew. After some administrative challenges, their Metochi Lodgewas built there. Constructed from local stone, the house almost disappears into the landscape and is located on a slope that guarantees fantastic sea and nature views. Wild beauty that you can also admire from the infinity pool.

There are terraces and shaded areas in abundance, and the garden is filled with pomegranate, lemon, and orange trees. Nearby, Falassarna beach awaits with its white sand and azure blue water, and you can take beautiful walks here all year round. The interior and exterior blend into one another, so there are references to the rugged landscape everywhere. The couples set to work with driftwood they found on the beach, the walls were roughly plastered, and Karolien made her own ceramic bowls, objects, and lamps. Finished with a touch of Belgian finesse, from Libeco linen to Rainpharma care products.
