Even priests don't live forever. And then the rectory is left behind, abandoned. Fortunately, the neighbors took pity on this enormous building on the main street of Wenduine. The rectory was not replaced by a styleless new building, but lovingly and patiently restored to become Pastorie Stella. Saved from demolition, in other words. All traces of its long vacancy have been neatly removed, and here and there you come across a souvenir of the pastor. From the authentic floor, now with underfloor heating, to the heavy offertory box and an amazing collection of vintage cabinets. Beautiful doors were hidden under cheap wood, and after ten unwanted layers of paint, the elegant staircase was revealed. The velvet chairs that adorned the pastor's office now pop up in the rooms, and in the living room, an antique billiard table stands proudly in front of the authentic fireplace. It can be neatly closed off with steel windows in case the discussions get too heated. Just so as not to ruin that moment of zen by the gas fireplace. There are plenty of seats, so there's never a scramble for a spot. The spacious kitchen adjoins the large terrace that opens onto a lovely walled garden. The perfect place to let your little rascals run around, play petanque, or soak up some sun. All rooms feature large windows, are exceptionally bright and airy, and tastefully decorated. Each room has its own bathroom, and each bathroom has a different floor and atmosphere. And so, after years of silence, this place is once again bustling with life. Exactly what the owners want. What was once a privilege for one person is now the joy of many.
