About this place
There are many dream locations, but Paviljoen De Notelaer is in a class of its own. This 18th-century neoclassical pavilion has nothing but advantages. This unique heritage site was built in 1792 by Duke d'Ursel as a summer residence and is located on the banks of the Scheldt, in Hingene. Elegantly gleaming in a bend, in the middle of a quiet area and with the Scheldt right in front of you. Nature and history, in other words.
This historic picture served as a hunting and reception pavilion, was particularly popular with the nobility with its symmetrical looks, and reopened its doors in 2025 after a complete renovation. Today, this exclusive heritage accommodation is still surrounded by century-old trees and in the monumental round salon you can enjoy the breathtaking domed ceiling as well as the parquet in 8 types of wood. Grandeur all around. Not to mention the enchanting view of the water and the brand new state-of-the-art kitchen and the stately dining room with a view. There are also 3 beautiful bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom with sauna.
You explore the beautiful river landscape via its dikes, footpaths and cycling routes and the view of the water is always included. Moreover, since you stay right on the Scheldt dike, you dive straight into that landscape. A short walk or an hour-long bike ride, here you can breathe again. Nearby you hop on an old ferry that takes you across to the other bank of the Scheldt. And from spring until October you can enjoy the nearby garden terrace in the public garden and marvel at that impressive mirror pond. Bet you'll run out of words to describe your weekend getaway.
