There are places that exude an otherworldly beauty. Soul for City is one such place. This luxury apartment covers 150m² and is located in a ^19th-century building on a car-free shopping street in the heart of Ghent, right between Sint-Baafsplein and Korenmarkt, and therefore close to both the Stadshal and the Belfry. You will be staying in a historic gem that has been lovingly renovated: high ceilings with beautiful moldings, authentic wooden floors that creak charmingly, and an imposing staircase to heaven that is the eye-catcher and soul of the building. This staircase leads to a dome and serves as a sculptural element of the apartment. In the dome, you can spot five Greek philosophers, Socrates and company. So you are in good company. Adjacent to the bright master bedroom is a terrace with plants where you can enjoy the sun all afternoon until late in the evening. In order not to disturb the historic character of the building, the apartment has been furnished in a minimalist style. High-quality materials were chosen: natural stone in the bathroom and kitchen, golden brown oak, and white steel. Works of art by mainly New Zealand artists are permanently displayed in the building. White sets the tone, complemented by warm, earthy tones. In Soul for City, you come home.
