Pascal and Kirsten get to know each other in Hotelschool Ter Duinen, but once graduated, the adventurous Pascal soon moves to Switzerland. In 2011, Kirsten joins him, they have 2 daughters together and build their dream life there. Spending time in nature, crossing forests, conquering mountains, being together and intensely enjoying each other and the beauty that surrounds them. A chalet of their own is high on the bucket list and one fine day the family stumbled upon a dream spot to renovate in the Swiss Jura, between Geneva and Lausanne. With a view of Lake Geneva and the Alps. And good for the very best sunrises. The icing on the cake.

The family, including little ones Linde and Inne, are renovating together. No contractor or architect is involved; everything is conceived, designed, and executed by the family themselves. And so 't Cabanneke becomes a true family place. After keeping their little paradise to themselves for a few years, they feel the urge to share all that happiness and inspire like-minded people to take time for everyone and everything they love.

And this is the place par excellence to focus on what matters. In summer, squirrels come squawking on the terrace, offspring cool off in the cabane de Rose-Linn or on the trampoline, you aperitif in the sun and mountain bike high above the clouds. In winter, you spot foxes, put on snowshoes, go sledding or cross-country skiing before warming up in the hot tub and sauna and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. And no matter what season it is, you always hike right into the wild.
