Spectacular? Check! Exceptional? Check! Anyone who sees Ter Ast is guaranteed to blink twice, because this is not your average building, nor your average vacation home. Here, you stay in a former chicory kiln in Wevelgem, surrounded by meadows and fields. What's more, the kiln belongs to a historic, listed farmstead with roots dating back to the^15th century. The farm itself has been inhabited by the same family for over 100 years. Chicory and flax were grown on the surrounding fields for many years, and until the mid-1970s, the chicory roots were dried in the barn during the winter.

A few years ago, the family decided to repurpose that ast. And after a thorough renovation and makeover, they ended up with this remarkable, quirky vacation home. laced with green and terracotta accents. The heart of the ast, the boiler room of yesteryear, is now a cozy place where you gather by the fireplace. The kitchen has a convenient hatch to the dining room and, when the weather is nice, you can open the windows to enjoy the panoramic view of the fields. Or would you prefer the covered terrace or sunbathing area? Good to know, the vending machine next door sells fresh fruit and vegetables every day.

The two floors used to serve as drying rooms, and today they are connected by an elegant staircase. On the^first floor, you’ll find a lounge with a balcony, a sitting and sleeping area, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms with views of the fields and meadows. One floor up is a duplex with a lounge, balcony, kitchen, and sleeping area overlooking the farm, as well as an impressive Tower Room, plus a large bedroom with a mezzanine and a bathroom featuring a bathtub and shower. Need even more space? Then book the renovated barn as well. In any case, the owners are happy to work with you to create a customized proposal.
