Some 20 years ago, Kristien and Hans bumped into an old farmhouse between Vielsalm and Houffalize. And when 2 artists fall in love with a place, they take their time to restore that splendor, matter of not bruising that old soul. So they spent almost as long transforming the property gently to today's luxury standards. Their woodworking and ceramics workshops were immediately given a place in the old barn where you'll also find the gallery where they exhibit all that beautiful, intense work. Good for a serene harmony of understated purity.

Let's be clear, at The Claywood Factory, true luxury reigns supreme. Their suite for two is brimming with beautiful materials and a soothing simplicity. This is no coincidence: Kristien works as an interior designer and Hans was a landscape architect in a previous life, so they share a love for earthy colors, whimsical structures, and unique, imperfect objects. This has resulted in a place to stay that is full of character. From the kilim rug to the Eames classic to the Italian hammam with light therapy, every detail has been carefully selected so that you can immediately slow down.

If you want to dive into nature, you can chill out on one of the many terraces or choose from a bevy of hiking trails and RAVEL routes. Would you rather play golf? Or want to get inspired? You are welcome to peek into their artist's studio and in the evening, by appointment, you can join them for a dinner prepared by the owners, with ingredients from the garden.
