Less than 400 meters from the beach, around the corner from Wapenplein and close to the shopping streets and iconic Ostend landmarks such as Visserkaai, the James Ensor House, and De Grote Post, a stately mansion appears on a car-free street. Villa Roland has been standing here since 1901, and this historic building has just been completely restored with a great sense of style. This was no basic renovation, but a complete makeover in which no expense was spared. And as soon as you step inside, you notice that this is a warm family story.

Indeed, Patrick, along with studious son Gilles, took charge of the entire renovation while wife Mick and daughter Delphine created the timeless interior. The mother-daughter duo runs interior design studio DemiMaison, so it is not their first try. And you can tell. No hours were counted here, so the whole picture is right and you immediately come to complete rest. Or how to make your mark as a family.

In the basement a cozy double sitting area with even a terrace for those who want to take a breath of fresh air. One floor up, the fully-equipped kitchen awaits you with an adjacent elegant dining room bathed in light. The 5 bedrooms continue in the same vein. Warm tones, natural materials and organic curves. And here too, every nook and cranny has been optimized and tastefully decorated. And thanks to the 4 bathrooms with rain showers, you can also wake up in peace. Now all that remains is to decide who can claim the giant bedroom in the ridge of the roof....
