Veronique designed wedding dresses for twenty years, but when she and her husband moved into her parents' farm, they started thinking about doing something different. So the couple converted the farm stables into a luxury B&B: Het Soete Water. Located near Bruges, a 10 km bike ride along the canal takes you from the city to the countryside. The renovation involved a lot of old materials that Hein, a contractor by profession, had been carefully storing away for years. After all, it would be a shame to throw them away. The large space, where calves were born, now serves as a dining and sitting area, with the kitchen tucked away around the corner. Here, Veronique regularly bakes pies, cookies, or cakes to spoil her guests. The feast begins early in the morning with freshly baked bread, homemade granola, and fruit juices. The B&B has a rural atmosphere, with accent walls made of brickand authentic furniture finds, and each of the four rooms has its own private terrace. Some rooms offer a view of the horses, while others overlook the forest panorama. Or would you prefer to relax in the spacious garden and then take a dip in the pool? From mid-May to mid-September, guests can enjoy the pool in Veronique and Hein's peaceful private garden between noon and 5 p.m.
