In the Flemish Fields, surrounded by meadows and fields as far as the eye can see and right between the Market Square of Poperinge and the Schreve, or the French border, lies the secluded Ter Winterbeke. In complete tranquility. With the haunting Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery as its only neighbor. Here, Eddy stumbled upon a dilapidated but idyllic estate that he renovated single-handedly and with great expertise. And the centuries-old, listed half-timbered barn was converted by the carpenter into a vacation home. Not without a struggle. For more than two years, the hard-working carpenter was here every weekend and every holiday, and you can see the results.

Beams were restored or replaced with new, old oak ones, and everywhere you notice the owner's signature. Stairs, tables, benches, beds, Eddy made it all himself. He also gave new life to the half-timbered oven door, the country's only example by the way, and on request he bakes pizzas for you here. Three hours of firing wood and 7 minutes of baking. You have to do something to enjoy a delicious pizza. You share the garden with Eddy who lives and works in another building on the site as well as with his horses, dogs, cat, rabbits and a curious goat. You are welcome to roll up your sleeves or peek into the stables, but nothing is compulsory. Listening to the silence and lazing around carefree is just as much an option.
